The outline of a scientific article is now well codified and responds to established and specific rules. It compels the author to write in a concise and explicit manner in each sub-heading, starting with the introduction which must present the purpose(s) of the work.
It also obligate the editor to verify, thanks to his reviewers (hence their importance), if every idea expressed is placed in the right paragraph. The editor also checks the value brought by the study. The more the work will follow the rules of presentation, the easier will be the proofreading and fewer the corrections before publication. This will provide the reader a quick reading and straightforward finding of relevant information; hence the importance of these rules for publications. The «Revue de Laryngologie Otologie Rhinologie» is no exception to these requirements even though it adapts to its readership which consists essentially of otolaryngologists. They seek simple information, immediately applicable to their daily practice.
