Summary : Introduction: Voice is an indispensable tool of human communication. The female larynx is influenced by changes in sex hormones and the menstrual cycle. Objectives: To study the effects of oral contraception and the medical treatment of endometriosis which causes sterility and its effect on the singer woman's voice. Patients and methods: We conducted a retrospective study from March 2014 to January 2017 on 78 professional opera women. They were divided into three groups, 28 under oral contraceptive pills (ocp), 20 under Danazol treatment and 30 without any treatment. An evaluation of the acoustic and aerodynamic characteristics of their voices has been done. Results: The average age of women was 24 with extremes from 18 to 40 years. The mean fundamental frequency was 217.52 Hz in the group of women under oral contraceptive treatment. The maximum mean phonation time in the group of women under Danazol was 18.56 seconds. Conclusion: Singer women under oral contraceptive therapy have a more stable voice and this facilitates certain vocal techniques such as appoggio. The use of Danazol does not involve a significant change in the voice of the singers.
